The first Arctics album was the last one I bought.
This new one is the latest.
I really like the Arctics and the Nightmare starts with several cracking sounds. In fact, production, playing, performing, singing are all far better with just as much energy and enthusiasm.
I love their sound. To me they are about the only original band I've heard in ages.
I love them when they are being frantic and speedy.
My favourite track is D is for Dangerous (which includes the album title).
His lyrics are often splendid too. Though the annoyingly minimalist package contains no lyrics at all.
But there's one big problem. Not a hit on the entire album. No melodies whatsoever.
My problem with the first album was that I felt it had two hits and the rest was photocopies. This one has no melodies at all.
It's great stuff on every other level but I fear, like the first, I'll play it half a dozen times and that's it.
