Time to tell you about the new(ish) crime - using the law to break the law - CIVIL claims brought by liars and encouraged - often started - by bent law firms.
This happened years ago with the WHIPLASH scandal.
Lies, damned lies: Abuse of process and the dishonest litigant

One of the problems which a lawyer in civil practice is likely to encounter is the dishonest client.
So said the mighty Lord Reed - what he avoided saying is often the liars are provoked by bent lawyers with NO WIN NO FEE offers. This is the current version of blackmail, extortion. Primarily with people found guilty of offences and languishing in jail (which often leads to wives and children having to leave homes which get sold to pay the liars and, naturally, the lawyers). Secondarily - dead people - even if found innocent, like Janner - the Estate gets hit. Thirdly - wealthy innocent people (less evidence is needed in civil cases).
Nearly always these claims are settled out of court (Defence Lawyers charge a fortune and try to string the cases out for as long as possible, charging all the while).
There HAS to be a law change where bent lawyers on NO WIN NO FEE deals can be made to pay the falsely accused if the liars cannot afford to do so.
