It illustrates, for the first time, how the Peelers slowly but surely started getting slapdash, began messing up the basics and became not just incompetent but corrupt. So the appalling Hillsborough cover up took place; officers naturally protect other officers, often rightly so, but that had crossed over, messing up behaviour. No thought about repercussions. And the area of sex crimes has really tipped them over the edge because the attraction of public and media support has pushed them into sometimes criminal acts. So the insane You Will Be Believed madness. And the Credible And True bonkers approach. And, as we see in Henriques, even breaking the law. Lying to Judges to obtain Search Warrants. Forging them. Having a friendly JP who lives around the corner scribble a signature without asking questions or checking legality. Formalities. Appearing on TV asking people to pervert the justice. Shocking. Appalling. Dreadful.
