As you know I tend to blame police, mainly, for, in my experience, certainly crossing the moral if not the legal line by assisting criminals in trying to pervert the course of justice. And the judicial system for allowing it to happen. But recent cases like David Bryant and Geoff Long have illustrated that sometimes defence lawyers are to blame. For not being PRO Active. In both those cases and many others (Ched Evans) they should have either themselves or through Private Investigators found out about Danny Day, Long's lying daughter (the pink sink), the previous behaviour of the Evans false allegation (although, poor girl, she never alleged anything until corrupt cops forced her to) and the dozens of other miscarriages of justice; some turned around on Appeal (but who wants to spend a few years in prison for crimes that never happened?).
Lawyers should find this out before court cases. Indeed I suspect in many cases the CPS would not have brought the prosecution had they been informed of the truth.
Lawyers - please be PRO Active and not RETRO Active in all cases in 2017.
